Helping Charlottesville

The Hot Goss likes to have fun but we also want to make sure we share information to help better society. The events in Charlottesville over the weekend were absolutely awful so do something positive in retaliation.

The Hot Goss likes to have fun but we also want to make sure we share information to help better society. The events in Charlottesville over the weekend were absolutely awful so do something positive in retaliation. Below is a small list of organizations who can benefit from your donation.

African American Teaching Fellows

From their website: “Nearly 30 percent of school-age children in Charlottesville and Albemarle County are African American, but less than 10 percent of their teachers are. The absence of African American teachers leaves many African American students feeling disconnected from school, and the disparity creates misperceptions and stereotypes that disadvantage all students, regardless of race. We want to change that.”

NAACP Local Branch

The NAACP Albemarle-Charlottesville branch can use your support to continue to fight for social justice.

The Women’s Initiative

From their website: “The mission of The Women’s Initiative is to provide women with effective counseling, social support and education so they can transform life challenges into positive change and growth.”

Charlottesville Pride

Giving the Pride community visibility and promoting equality.

This is a very small selection of organizations working hard in Charlottesville to foster inclusion. They can use your help. Again, there are more organizations for several different communities that can use your help so please give where you can.
